Hoosier Heartland Player of the Week: 3/31/08 – 4/5/08

Alex Kirby
Hoosier Heartland Conference

Congratulations
to Justin Huddleston of Tri-Central High School, this week’s Hoosier
Heartland Player of the Week! He was nominated by his head coach, Kim
Drake.

Huddleston plays on the Trojan golf team, and shot a 39
in the season opening match against Alexandria Monroe and Hamilton
Heights.

“Beyond that, he works extremely hard in practice. He
shows up at least 30 minutes prior to practice every day to work on his
game,” says Drake.

She added,”He also provides good leadership for the younger players.”

The senior’s work ethic is not limited to athletics.

“Justin
serves as an intern for an accounting firm and he has been very devoted
to his work there as well.  Justin is overall a good student and very
conscientious about all that he undertakes.”

Congratulations once again to Justin Huddleston, the Hoosier Heartland Conference Player of the Week.

Honorable mention also goes to the other two nominees in no particular order:

Tyler
Child from Lafayette Central Catholic, junior catcher on the baseball
team.  Tyler went 4-7 with 4 RBI’s including 3-run home run in a
doubleheader sweep of Tri-Central. Child was nominated by LCC head
baseball coach and athletic director Tim Bordenet.

Riley Eller,
pitcher from Carroll (Flora).  Riley threw a 2 hitter against Winamac,
struck out 13 batters in 5 innings, had no BB, and was on the assist
for the 14th out. Eller also had 2 doubles in the game. Eller was
nominated by Steve Keown head baseball coach at Carroll (Flora).

Wanted: SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS!!

Hey,
high school and college students, want to be a reporter for your team?
Would you like to take pictures, write stories, go to games for free,
and get published on HoosierAuthority.com? Or are you out of high school and college but would simply like an excuse to follow your alma mater?

Hoosier Authority and Digital Sports are looking for talented, motivated people who have a passion for high school and amateur sports. We would like to give you the opportunity to cover the high schools in your area, to gain valuable experience as a journalism intern, and add it to your college transcript or resume.

Set your own schedule!
Each week, you will be e-mailed a list of games in your area that need coverage, whether it be articles, pictures, video, etc. You simply reply and tell us what you are able to do. Go out on weeknights or just have a cool weekend job!

Follow your favorite team!
Show your passion for your alma mater! While we want stories that are balanced and objective, we welcome die-hard fans of every perspective. Now you have an excuse to go to as many high school sporting events as you would like!

Become a published reporter!
Simply e-mail your articles, stats, or photos to Hoosier Authority and, after some quick editing, your article goes on the site. It’s just that easy!

Qualify for scholarships!
Hoosier Authority and Digital Sports offer scholarship money to students who display exceptional talent and dependability while interning. Earning scholarship money and doing what you love … what could be better than that?

Get the word out!
Write articles for your school paper,
hand out fliers at events, mention us to your friends. Let Indiana know
that Hoosier Authority has the best high school coverage anywhere!

If you are currently working at your school’s radio station, newspaper, yearbook, or you just love high school sports, then we want you!

You don’t have to be enrolled in any journalism classes, or be majoring in broadcasting, communication, or anything related to journalism, for that matter. If you’re a guy or girl who just loves sports and would like an opportunity to get your foot in the door, this is it!

For more information on how
you can become an official writer and/or photographer for Hoosier
Authority as well as other exciting opportunities, e-mail your name, school (if currently in high school or college), city/town, and what you are interested in covering to Alex Kirby at akirby@digitalsports.com.
